The Baahubali film franchise, consisting of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion, became a massive hit, captivating audiences with its stunning visuals, powerful storytelling, and thrilling action sequences. Following the cliffhanger ending of Baahubali 2, rumors about a potential third installment have been circulating. Recently, film producer KE Gnanavel Raja, while promoting his upcoming movie Kanguva, hinted at the development of Baahubali 3.
In a conversation with Desimartini, Raja revealed that Baahubali 3 is currently in the planning stages. He learned about it during discussions with filmmakers last week. He noted, “They made Baahubali 1 and 2 back-to-back, but they’re now planning Baahubali 3 after a gap.” This announcement has piqued the interest of cinema enthusiasts.
Raja also mentioned that the second part of Kalki 2898 AD, featuring stars like Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, will be released after two other films. He confirmed that Salaar will follow a similar schedule, stating, “Even Salaar and Salaar 2 will have a gap between them. Once the audience connects with the characters, they will enjoy them whenever they are made. Look at Suriya’s Singam series, which had a three to four movie gap between each installment.”
Directed by SS Rajamouli, the Baahubali series showcased Prabhas in dual roles as Amarendra Baahubali and his son Shivudu/Mahendra Baahubali, alongside a talented cast that included Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Ramya Krishnan.
As for KE Gnanavel Raja’s upcoming film Kanguva, it stars Suriya in the lead role, with Bobby Deol, Natarajan Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, Disha Patani, Jagapathi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Anandaraj, Kovai Sarala, and KS Ravikumar rounding out the cast. Directed by Siva, Kanguva is being produced on a budget of Rs 300 crores and is set to hit theaters on November 14.
